The mission of the Abbey Trail 2nd Floor Renovation Project was to update the entire bedroom level of this Oakville Glen Abbey Home, replacing outdated finishes and fixtures to reflect a luxurious hotel aesthetic to the Master Wing, and also adding a large dressing room with custom closets. Updates to the remaining bathrooms and bedrooms were carefully executed, bringing a cohesive flow throughout this floor.
In the Master Bath, a steam shower, floating vanity & Art Deco nuances create a sensuous atmosphere that the homeowner describes as “living in a five-star hotel.” With a stunning arched tile detail in the shower, generous bench, polished porcelain tiles and brushed brass finishes, the shower area is incredibly luxurious--a spa feeling right at home.
The white oak floating vanity meets all their storage needs, and the vintage inspired lighting adds to the Art Deco feel. With the curvaceous soaker tub, warmth of the gold finishes, arched mirrors, and the oak slat wall bringing privacy to the toilet area, no detail was overlooked to make this space a retreat for the homeowners.
In addition, for this 2nd floor renovation project we increased the size of the Master Wing by converting an unused bedroom into the dressing room which now has separate his-and-her closets catered to their own personal needs. The grass cloth wallpaper adds a textural element and gold touches bring elegance and softness, while working cohesively with the rest of the space. An ironing station makes last minute touch ups effortless, and the extra mirrors and area rug are functional aspects that add to the beauty of the space as well.
The Main Bath and a smaller 2pc Bath were also updated using chic European inspired finishes bringing warmth and additional storage for both rooms. In the Main Bath, the chevron floor contrasts with the black vanity accented with gold hardware and stunning wall sconces, while the enlarged shower has a classy mix of decorative tiles for an old-meets-new vibe. The two-piece bath was updated along with a refresh of the remaining bedrooms with window treatments and a larger closet--also customized with pocket doors and lots of room for personal items.
Wide Plank Oak flooring was installed throughout all the bedrooms and expansive hallway, with the addition of a custom runner for the staircase and dramatic chandelier so the entire second floor feels sophisticated and ready for the homeowner to hang art and complete the final styling details.
