When we first met with the clients for our Dundas Valley Living Room project, they had a clear vision for their space: a balance of custom, modern furniture with the antiques they already cherished. As avid travelers with a love for collecting unique pieces from around the world, we designed the room to have a neutral foundation that would allow them to refresh the décor seasonally. Vibrant green accents, complemented by cushions they already owned, added a touch of nature to the space already brimming with plants, while enhancing the room's warmth and energy. Another key design element was incorporating their love for Arts and Crafts style, which we seamlessly integrated into the design.
The first task was to address the room’s layout and visually reduce its length. We decided to reposition the electric fireplace, which allowed us to bring in a longer sofa and shift the room’s focal point. A classic slope-arm sofa and two generous armchairs with an ottoman created a welcoming space for guests and a cozy reading nook. The Arts and Crafts-inspired tables and artisan lamps brought period details into the design in a way that was both stylish and livable. We also chose a wool area rug with contemporary leafy motifs to tie the entire design together, bringing texture and harmony to the room.
Once the foundational pieces were in place, Bella Casa Interiors collaborated with the clients to source artwork and complete the finishing touches that added warmth and sophistication to the space. The result is a room that has become their absolute favorite—a perfect reflection of their personal style and lifestyle. By thoughtfully blending antique pieces with new textures, colors, and a timeless design approach, we transformed this Dundas Valley Living Room into a space they truly love.
